I just started training consistently at Guerrilla JJ, although I've been attending Marathon roll for a few months. I really love the intensity and dedication of the students, one of my main focuses as of late (besides open/closed guard improvement) is improving my submissions from multiple positions. I noticed I have a tendency to always end in S mount, side mount or back mount and frankly I'm getting tired of my own repetitive movements. Despite this, I hate being in situations where I am uncomfortable so although I am forcing myself to play more bottom, I still feel I could use more pointers on how to set up more advantageous positions that allow me greater success in submissions from open/closed guard & back. I will check out the Iron Maiden but also browse more through the videos offered here.
IE: I am in closed guard, trying to hit an omoplata, getting stacked and not feeling like I have better transitioning if I can't finish the omoplata or hit an arm bar from there.
